Big, misleading headline. Buried note in the article about usage of closed tools for malware.

Free software may be used for any purpose. The open development model has been around since the beginning of electronic computers. So, how in the world is this news, rather than just another RegDeveloper pitch for clicks?

Well, if you read the article, it says that McAfee is the one saying this, and that the author disagrees with it. However, I agree that the headline is a click magnet.
