Of the 1700 or so CMS I've found on the net and the half dozen I have tried, PhpNuke is on high on my list to avoid. Drupal hasn't bitten me yet.

PhpNuke has a terrible reputation. Apparently the current developers are doing little if any support. I've also heard that because its difficult to export to other CMS, many are more or less stuck with it.

Just take a look at the code. It's a horrible spagetti mess, violating basically every rule about maintainable software design. No wonder the Nuke family of software is plagued by security problems.

I've used CMS's since about 2003. I can tell you straight up to avoid *nukes. There are no benefits to them, tons of security holes, and you can accomplish so much more with ones like joomla!
