FYI - this is what i posted on Novells site (actually I think it went to surveymonkey.com which is even better): I think Novell has been duped into a Microsoft strategy of 1) creating FUD about possible patent claims (customers are almost never sued in patent claims), 2) playing into a Microsoft "save our Office document format monopoly" strategy, 3) establishing a precedent of paying a Microsoft tax for using the work of free people - freely given to the community. I think you're going to look silly when your attempts to insert Microsoft viral patented IP into OOo come up against sect. 11 of the LGPL. B.T.W.
