I am VERY happy about this!! I stopped using java some years ago and the license was the reason for it! I used to say that they would never GPL it..... This is awesome!! Lets have some fun again!!

Cool thing: Two of the biggest things the FSF/GNU Project have been working on is a GPL Java version, and a GPL Flash version. One down; now they can focus on Flash and other things.

I think this is another sign that Linux is having tremendous market penetration.

I will admit that I never expected them to release it under the GPL. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I never expected Sun to use the GPL. I am pleased that they did.

I have always understood their preference for their own licenses, and the BSD (with their historic connections to BSD), so this is a fantastic development.

Add me to the list of poor clairvoyants.

I, on the other hand, predicted this very move on the day after Hell froze over.

Hope them poor demons et al have their mittens on.

For the fun of it, a little "pie in the sky":

I had some fun with this "prediction," but I have no idea how real it could be. It's cool to speculate.

No ads on the blog. I don't do that.

Enjoy the lark.
