When it's so classically Enderle-awful. I do get a giggle out of the bio:

"Ranked as one of the most influential technology specialists in the world, Rob Enderle is the Principal Analyst for the Enderle Group, a firm focused on making a positive difference with emerging technology in the corporate and consumer markets."

The Enderle Group is Rob Enderle. The rest is a sterling example of the power of imagination.

I thought his attempt at coming off as 'objective' was hilarious. But you're absolutely correct. He has inspired my imagination. :-)

So...you have a problem with small businesses (like your own)?

Seriously. You should know better than that.

Tis fine to attack Enderle for being Enderle, but free software folks should be the very last ones to be cracking on micro businesses.

I agree with Tux. It's as silly as making business cards thay say your CEO when you're a one man barder shop or something :-)

It's one thing to have a one-man business (nothing wrong with that) and another to call that business a "group". So indeed there's something to laugh about here. ;)

And it IS misleading as well. We don't like misleading.

There is nothing wrong with a little bit of puffery. I know very few small businesses that don't try to look a lot like larger businesses. In some industries, it's almost required.

Incidentally, you absolutely can have a group of one.

I took that more as "Hmm, so the 'prinicipal analyst' for a company of one ranks himself as 'one of the most influential technology specialists in the world'. How quaint."

Correct me if I'm wrong, TC.

What everyone except Dino said :). That bio is beyond puffery and well into megalomania.

Well, there's only room for one megalomaniac on this Internet, and it ain't ol' Rob.

So, you think you can out arm-rassle me, do you?

Well!!!

It just makes me feel very bad that I'm suffering from a server case of whooping crane. Or something like that. Otherwise, I'd show you!

Well, those years of poop-scooping the horses finally paid off. I knew that someday I would find a silver lining!
