OLPC = One (Windows) License Per Child?

Not that it's one bit surprising. Can't have all those poor kids using that viral communist linux thing..... They might not grow up to be well respected and highly paid MCSEs...

Considering IT Wire is reporting that you can't get a cheap laptop with Vista, they might have to call it the $1500 OLicensePC.

Quoting:Ever since it got the cold shoulder from those open source junkies over at the OLPC project, Microsoft has been sort of sour grapesey about the whole thing. Now it looks like they've changed tacts: instead of offering up Windows CE to power the fledgling Children's Machine CM1 2B1 B1 XO WhateverTheHeckItsCalled, Microsoft is trying to stuff the entirety of Windows XP into the little box.

ROTFL! And it will run for, hmmmm, like 10 minutes on OLPC's batteries? Yeah, maybe we should encourage them - such a beautiful disaster would be fun! :)

With the furious hand-cranking it'd take to run XP on it, they'll be too tired to learn anything.
