I don't know if 70,000 will change the impact of the loss of community around Suse on Novell, seeing as much that has and continues to be said on the web about the deal between Novell and Microsoft, the future of a stable community for Suse and Novell is a question Novell cannot have an answer for.

One problem Novell will have for sure, if Microsoft for whatever reason(s) fails to make Vista & Suse-Linux work together as well as Microsoft and Novell have stated. The fallout from broken Vista & Suse-Linux will harm Novell, and have most of those that believed them, moving to another linux distro and lost sales for both. Novell has the hook, will it pull them under ?.

Yes.

And the fallout will have no negative effect on MS.

microsoft has to keep track of the people who they are going to sue after 2012 -

70,000 should take a long time and so they will have plenty to do after 2012.

remember sco sued their customers first. so if you got one of these subscriptions and you are running another linux distro after 2012 then I would keep some lawyers on staff.
