I use Trend Micro's online "Housecall" service,

which uses Java to scan Linux as well as Windows systems.

When I download Windows games for my daughter, before I copy them over to her machine, I do a scan with Housecall. I have not caught a virus in the act yet, but this way I can test it on a machine that cannot be infected by the Windows virus first.

Sort of a "clean room" test.
