I don't know how many people I run into that boast they are using a 2.2.xx version of the gimp. If you use gimp, do yourself a favor and go to the 2.3.xx version. The changes are numerous, the usability is much enhanced, and the stability is still very good. Anyone running Debian can get gimp 2.3.15-1 from the experimental repos. |

I am one of those who listened to Jim on this, 2.3 is really easy to use and it has not crashed ever. |
