Vector still shows its Slackware heritage in a number of ways, among them being the ncurses installer and X-Windows configuration. However, the sound card problem is probably not due to its Slackware base, as I've never had a similar problem with sound under Slackware, but always had problems when I've tried out Vector. :( You can find OpenOffice packages for Slackware on linuxpackages.net: http://www.linuxpackages.net/search_view.php?by=name&name=Op... I have no idea if they will work with Vector or not, but it's worth a try. |
