Just use gprename.

Works perfectly and since you get to look at the results first, is rather more foolproof than the suggested method, especially for those not used to writing scripts...

What about krename? :)

Personally, I use the command-line rename. A force of habit, I suppose, as I have krename installed and just can't remember that a GUI exists ;)
