Professors at business schools do research. That research is supposed to be relevant to actual business practice. Some companies do compete with open source.

Big deal. And the headline is just flat out wrong. How many Linux publications and comments on sites like this talk about Microsoft's business practices? You could also make the headline, "LXer teaches businesses how to squash open source."
