because OO.o comes bundled with most, if not all Linux Distros. OO.o 3 is the default Office package on Mandriva Linux 2009.0.

It must be all those Bunties installing it

Yeah, and you'll notice it wasn't a total count, just of one download system. I torrented the Windows version for when needed but installed on my own machines via portage.

3 gets downloaded by people running Etch, CentOS/Red Hat 5, and anything else that is generally "old and moldy".
