It looks like http://www.linux.com/ is now under the control of the Linux Foundation, which includes Linus Torvalds.

And here I thought a good domain name had gone dead..I am glad to see that it will be used by good people and for the greater good.

Not that I would have wanted it for my own evil purposes...;-)

Great news. I hope they make it work. I really miss the Linux.com original articles. I hope they make it something more than just a Linux forum.

I knew Scott was evil the first time I ever met him. He was wearing a monocle and stroking a white Persian cat. Those evil guys have a dress code, that's how you know.

TC -

Scott may be bad news, but Kernel Kitty is actually pretty nice, in a wretched beast from the bowels of all unholy terrors kind of way.

Anyone noticed this, dating from jan 1 '09:

http://www.linux.com/feature/156093

"For legal reasons, we can't tell you yet about what's coming -- but we're not joining forces with Microsoft or any other proprietary software company. As soon as we can tell you, you'll hear it here first."

To me, that sounds like someone is enforcing some IP - trademarks in this case. Or did I miss something - yet again?

That's an article from the old site Hans. At that point they may already have been in discussion with the Linux Foundation and agreed upon confidentiality until the deal was finished.

I read that article from Bruce Byfield, and it turns out the question I ask as the title of this thread, is pretty well off-base. They weren't just letting the site go slack as a discussion forum, they were letting the discussions keep it alive while making arrangements.

So Scott is the REAL Scott Evil? Really?

I'm not at all sure Seth Green was a good choice to play you in the movies.

Quoting:"Scott, evil? Say it isn't so!"

Scott Evil? isn't that Dr. Evil's son?

Shhh! Zip It!

Don't reveal Scott's true identity or you'll be swimming with the mutant sea bass.
