I've looked at the screenshots and I'm not at all sure that this is going to be better for me than Firefox with the Littlefox theme. Littlefox buys me the extra screen space I need on the netbook. I don't consider my touchpads "crummy" either on the Sylvania netbook or on the old Toshiba laptop. I think most of the problems people have with touchpads comes down to not getting the settings for them right. In any case when I'm using either machine as a desktop replacement I have an external mouse.

The real thing is that I'm a vi user, not an emacs user. emacs keybindings aren't at all familiar or comfortable for me. So... I think I'll pass.

Try vimperator. It's also a minimal theme for firefox but gives you vi(m) commands and scriptability.
