(this may be a bit too polemic, please accept my apologies)

those are the dangers of depending on a cloud service that has no alternatives. the provider has you locked in and can control the prices.

the writing has been on the wall for some time and you ignored the warnings at your own peril. instead of complaining against google you better go look for safer options now.

and thank you google for adding material to the arguments of cloud-critics.

greetings, eMBee.

Never trusted the Cloud anyway. Hard drives and back-up storage media are a heckuvalot more secure, and you don't have to be held hostage to the terms of some proprietary contract.

well, i would not go that far. someone made a good argument that as a small company you can hardly achieve the 99.99% uptime you can get from amazon and the likes, so it very much depends on what your needs are.

but there is a world of a difference between using a remote virtual (or real) machine where you can control all the software, and easily switch between providers and a proprietary framework like GAE which binds you to one company.

greetings, eMBee.
