Unfortunately, not really true. The mainstream distros seem to be Ubuntu and Fedora, running Unity and Gnome3, respectively. You're not going to be getting much done with those horrible UIs. You'd be better off with Windows of all things.

If someone starts selling laptops with a KDE distro pre-installed, it'd be a totally different story. Instead, this comic needs to be re-drawn so that scenario #3 resembles scenario #1: 1) Buy a Linux laptop 2) See the horrible Unity or Gnome3 UI the manufacturer installed and recoil in horror 3) Install a fresh version of Linux Mint 12 KDE (or other KDE distro) 4) Start working
