While this is unfortunate it seems to me that the monitor will still work if you don't hot plug it. Just plug it in before powering up. That may not be ideal but it certainly isn't a show-stopping issue. Am I misunderstanding this? If not, why would this be worth an article warning people away from Thunderbolt on Linux?
