I've very much enjoyed the various discussions of schedulers that have occurred over the years.

Especially enlightening was the discussion, some time ago now, of just how detailed and configurable the scheduler variables were in the "old" mainframe OSs such as IBM MVS and VM.

It will be interesting to see if such details will ever be able to be dynamically set in Linux, or if the options will expand in the source-code configuration considering that recompiling a kernel is so easy that I'm trying to figure out how to say "virtually trivial".

Anyway, what fun.
