for multi-booting all those live distros!

OK, I'm exaggerating, a bit... the 512 GB one is probably plenty big enough (and a little more affordable) :-P

It's $1750 today but in a couple of years it will probably be $17.50.

Remember when 64MB thumb drives were amazing?

Check the fine print on reliability and longevity when it finally arrives. SemiAccurate has this on looming issues:

Yumi (http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/) can put something like a dozen or more on an 8GB drive. I'd think you could probably do 20 or more on a 16GB drive. That would mean something like 80 on a 64GB. It's only problem is it's Windows only.

On a slightly more practical note:

OWC is readying a 2TB, 3.5-inch form-factor workstation SSD for 2013
