There is apparently just as passionate a celebratory response for the impending distribution release of Debian GNU/Linux version 7.0 Stable as there has been in the past for Canonical's seasonal release of its flagship Ubuntu product (the latter now at 13.04 "Raring Ringtail").

Indeed, given that Debian GNU/Linux is the parent distribution of Ubuntu, one may wonder -- among other aspects of this Linux news -- how many fully-committed Ubuntu devs will make it a point to attend the worldwide parties specifically held for the release of Debian GNU/Linux Stable v7.0 ?

I wanted to throw a Debian launch party, but there would only be two of us.

Maybe SpaceX could name their next rocket "Debian"?

How about a rocket called Wheezy?
