Ok, call me a curmudgeon if you want, but Windows for Workgroups and Windows 95 were such pathetically crappy OSs, why would we want to denigrate the good name of Linux by associating it with such crapware?

I think the idea behind this name is to give a hint to MS on what to name its new OS that Ballmer is planing to release. The OS that has to be based on Linux for MS to be able to compete in the Mobile devices market. :-)

Chill out guys. I think he is just poking at MS.

And it's true that if you run Windows in a virtual box under Linux, with no access to the internet and no access to Linux applications, likely Windows is very safe to run.

Actually, the original Win95 wasn't all that bad. The follow on additions (a,b, and c) degenerated somewhat.

The original Win95 didn't even have a tcp/ip stack. :)

That didn't stop my system from getting attacked by the Chernobyl virus on April 1, 1998.

Never again will a Microsoft OS touch my personal computing equipment.
