Fedora 20 was the culmination of a lot of changes built around systemd. It should be no surprise they didn't fit together too well at first. Fedora 20 was initially a performance pig.The Fedora Project needed time to sort out that mess. It has improved with updates but I was forced to encourage my users to use Linux Mint for their workstations if they had performance problems. I have been looking at Fedora 21 Alpha. It appears to be a big performance improvement on Fedora 20. Even with all the debugging code it seems quicker. Fedora's problem in our shop now is my users that switched love Mint 17.
