Well, it sure isn't pretty compared to modern times (especially with that horrible brown), but I would still take that DE over Unity. ;-)

Well, Ubuntu never won any style awards but if you look at a distro that was well known for it's good looks then even a 6 year old version still looks great (actually better and more functional than many current distros): <a href="http://www.linuxscreenshots.org/?release=Mandriva 2008.1">Mandriva 2008.1 screenshots here</a>

How I miss KDE 3.5! (luckily there is still TDE)

Either you have a invalid character some where or it's complaining about the space in release=Mandriva 2008.1

If you change the space to %20 it will work just fine
