I would really like it if they would fix the native compositor so that it didn't cause tearing during video playback (especially full screen), but I see no indications that anything was done about that issue. For the moment with Xfce 4.10 I disable the native compositor and use compton instead.

They fixed the vsynch compositor issue but it seems to only work if you use the Nouveau driver if you use the NVidia driver it doesn't work. So I also have to use Compton but that is not perfect either as Nvidia has ceased to support my card and therefore the last driver available to me is NVidia 304 and Compton using the GLX backend has issues with this driver.

Will have to upgrade my video card soon as I can afford one.

Most of the machines I use have either Intel or AMD video with the open source driver, though I do have one laptop with an Nvidia card.
