All these years Microsoft has been convoluting its system so that it would trip up Linux users and now they are in the embarrassing situation of having to admit that their stuff is not compatible.

Wrong way path separators

Spaces in directory names

Goofy end of line conventions

(need I continue the list)

Halloween documents. They're the origin story. ESR was totally right to put them on his website 18 years ago. That was the original "OMG linux!!!1one" realization from Redmond.

Bash on windows... just another half baked Hack by MS, and of course MS has no plans to give End Users any tools to modify these so called extended attributes for themselves.
