It seems that Microsoft just keeps hunting me down. It's like a bad nightmare that never stops.

1. I loved Skype but I removed it from my system immediately after I noticed it calling home to Microsoft servers soon after the acquisition.

2. I loved Nokia and used their Linux based phones for years. Microsoft ruined Nokia and broke all their good Linux work.

3. Linkedin -- I deleted my membership the day the Microsoft acquisition was announced.

4. Github -- I've had a github account since 2014. I'll wait for the official annoucement, but when it comes I'll delete my github account and move everything over to one of the other git services waiting to pick up the slack. I heard that https://gitlab.com is worth checking out.

Microsoft ruins things. They don't want us to have anything nice.

Would Linus move the Linux sources elsewhere ? My bet : he won't.

Quoting their blog post : "expect the agreement to close by the end of the year."

Let's hope they have unfriendly hellish talks, and that money, for one, cancels that deal.

Seems that M$ might 1st go after CanUBcomical's flagship Baboontu rather than RH, this based on HowTo's such as ""How to run Ubuntu Linux inside Windows 10"", https://www.pcgamer.com/linux-in-windows-10/

If M$ DOES try to buy Red Hat, then at least RH's Enterprise customers could alway go to Oracle Linux (DistroWatxh https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=oracle ) WITHOUT M$'s powerful legal team to successfully scream "Patent Violations! Patent Violations!"

"Bitcoin core developer Wladimir van der Laan is of the opinion that the BTC repository should move, asserting “I expect this is the beginning of a long painful road of GH toward obsolescence”. While there is nothing to suggest, at this stage, that Microsoft is posed to start hiking fees and plundering data, its ownership of a community that prides itself on decentralization is hard for many to stomach." https://news.bitcoin.com/blockchain-developers-abandon-githu...

Canonical would be an easier get for them.
