Makulu Aero Edition comes with a Windows like theme but the Windows theme isn't the most interesting thing about Makulu. No, It is definitely the choice of pre-installed software including Opera, Popcorn Time and Mega Sync.

It is over 2 years (almost 3) since I last reviewed Linux Lite. Linux Lite is a lightweight distribution built for ease of use. It uses the XFCE desktop environment and is based on Ubuntu LTS. The best features are the Lite Installer and the Control Centre. It competes in the same space and Linux Mint XFCE or MATE, Xubuntu, SolydXK, Zorin Lite etc.

Ubuntu 15.10 was released without a huge fanfare and for Ubuntu 14.04 users there is no real requirement to upgrade. In this review I have documented the one frustration that has bothered me about Ubuntu for so many years, the Ubuntu Software Centre. Why is nothing being done to fix it?

Q4OS is a distribution that I knew little about before I tried it. It uses the Trinity desktop environment which gives it an old school look and feel. It also has a striking resemblence to older versions of Windows which for Windows XP and Vista users is going to be very inviting.

Mageia 5 - So Much Better Than Last Time

My last review of Mageia was given the title "gone in 60 seconds" partly because that is as much time as I was prepared to give it. This time things went so much better although for a brief period I was left in complete silence
