Connie Sieh announced last evening, September 14th, the immediate availability for download of the Scientific Linux 5.7 operating system, for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.

Scientific Linux 5.7 is a distribution based on Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5.7 series and put together by various universities and labs around the world.
Being based on RHEL 5 Update 7, the new Scientific Linux 5.7 brings improved support for updated Linux kernel modules for XFS, OpenAFS and NDISwrapper, updated Oracle Java to 6 Update 26, updated Intel wireless firmware, GNUPlot 4.2.6, Alpine 2.02, Aufs 20090202, or R 2.13.1. Full Story |
