The Parsix GNU/Linux Project proudly announced a few minutes ago, February 14, that the first maintenance release of the Parsix GNU/Linux 7.0 (codename Nestor) computer operating system based on the Debian 7 Wheezy distribution has been officially released and it is now available for download from its website or as an upgrade to existing Parsix GNU/Linux 7.0 users.

This brand-new release of Parsix GNU/Linux is powered by Linux kernel 3.14.32 (with BFS and TuxOnIce 3.3 patches), which is kind outdated as the latest version of this LTS kernel is 3.14.33, but most probably it will be updated very soon. With an updated installer and support for UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) 64-bit computers, Parsix GNU/Linux 7.0r1 is now in sync with Debian Wheezy’s software repositories as of February 6, 2015.
