Linux kernel 4.0 for the Raspberry Pi default firmware branch

The default firmware branch of the very popular mini computer; the Raspberry Pi has now been updated to use the 4.0 kernel. The newer kernel tree does support more devices, like WiFi, DVB and USB devices.

According to the developers at the Raspberry Pi forum “the source tree has been available for a few months and is being used by OpenELEC amongst others. This tree is now considered the stable kernel source tree and will merge in minor bumps to the kernel version, rather than rebase.”
