Android and Chrome OS are currently two standalone projects which Google oversees, but rumors are flying around that they may be merged together.

“According to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, Google has intentions of rolling Chrome OS into Android at some point in the future.” - Android Beat

Its said that a tie up between the two operating systems has been in the pipeline for a couple of years, and recently a great deal of progress has been made. There is no official announcement regarding this, but its possible that the combined OS would make it into the wild in 2016.

Although this seems interesting, its very vague indeed. What aspects of the Chrome OS will android take on, and is this just an official attempt at the android x86 project, or could it be more like the convergence race being headed up my Ubuntu and Microsoft.

I personally hope it becomes a multi arch platform, arm and x86 as well has having convergence abilities.

Would love to dock my android phone and get a full desktop, even if it was Chrome based.
