AMDGPU-PRO Driver 16.30 Officially Released with Support for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

AMD released the final version of the AMDGPU-Pro 16.30 graphics driver for GNU/Linux operating systems, bringing support for new technologies like the Vulkan API.

Release highlights of the AMDGPU-PRO 16.30 graphics driver include support for the OpenGL 4.5, GLX 1.4, OpenCL 1.2, Vulkan 1.0, VDPAU (Video Decode and Presentation API for Unix) APIs, along with Vulkan support for the Dota 2 game, as well as basic display and power management features.

Additionally, the video driver comes with built-in support for the ADF (Atomic Display Framework) and KMS (Kernel Mode Setting) technologies, a GPL-compliant kernel module, and Debian packages that have been tested only on the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating system.
