Pogo Linux Launches New Solutions at LinuxWorld Boston

REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Pogo Linux, a hardware solutions vendor announced its "Your Logo Here!" turnkey solution to Linux software vendors today, allowing them to build tailored server appliances preloaded with their applications and branded with their corporate logos. Software vendors will benefit from Pogo Linux hardware expertise, in-house manufacturing and service to deliver benefits of ease of use and reduced compatibility issues to their end users at a low cost.

Current customers of the "Your Logo Here!" solution include security firewall appliances, network management devices and storage appliances. Branding options include chassis design, component configuration, software installation, packaging branding and onsite warranty technicians. By bundling applications on a pre-configured hardware platform, software vendors can help their customers with faster deployment cycles and overcome hardware compatibility issues.

"By offering the 'Your Logo Here!' solution, our customers have the opportunity to work with a world-class hardware manufacturer that fully understands how Linux drivers work. We help them navigate the minefields of hardware design," says Tim Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Pogo Linux. "Customers recognize the value of our expert design engineers and technical sales consultants and appreciate our ability to deliver the most detailed customization and worldwide end-user support."

In addition to enabling software companies to leverage untapped revenue potential through the "Your Logo Here" program, Pogo Linux also resolves IT managers' density challenge with two new breakthroughs in processor and storage density. -- 12TB Storage Server, utilizing 48 hard drives and a quad Opteron(TM)

platform: The StorageWare 548 is targeted at enterprises requiring

large storage connected directly to the computing server. This design

offers up to 80 percent less latency between the processors and the

storage data than traditional direct-attached storage solutions on the

market today. -- 8-Processor Opteron Server, utilizing HyperTransport technology: The

PerformanceWare 5864 delivers the highest computing density available

with AMD Opteron processors. With support for eight Opteron processors

and up to 64GB of memory, this server is designed for high performance

computing environments, where processing power is a precious commodity

and memory bandwidth is critical. By utilizing HyperTransport

technology, the PerformanceWare 5864 is able to provide virtually no

latency in addressing all the memory banks from the 8 processors, thus

enabling a higher speed of computing than competing platforms. Both the 12TB Storage Server and the 8-Processor Opteron Server are available for shipment now. Pogo Linux will be showcasing their "Your Logo Here!" solution in booth (#309) at LinuxWorld Boston this week. There will also be demonstrations of the new storage and server offerings throughout the day and a corporate presentation on Pogo Linux will run each hour of the show in the Pogo Linux booth.
