Hmmm ok - you are thinking about getting new computer hardware, either a desktop or a laptop.
The problem is: where would you get one - if you don’t build it yourself - without the “Redmond tax”?

So the question remains: who will be the leader and the first one who offers a nice laptop with Linux preinstalled - and the /home partition having at least 80% of all the hard disk space? It doesn’t matter much which flavour of Linux is being used as long as you have a separate /home - just take your own favourite one and do a reinstall of everything *but* /home.
