The world is talking about GNU/Linux and Free/Open Source Software
Security suggests switch to Macs
Security threats to PCs with Microsoft Windows have increased so much that computer users should consider using a Mac, says a leading security firm.
Sophos security said that the 10 most commonly found pieces of malicious software all targeted Windows machines. In contrast, it said, none of the "malware" were capable of infecting the Mac OS X operating system.
Only "the 10 most commonly found pieces...?" Whilst the basic tenet of this story is true, there's a couple of things missing. Mainly, there's no mention of Linux at all. Added to this is the rather curious timing. Shortly after the hardware specs of Mac and Windows get a lot closer, this comes out. Has this not been true of Windows and Macs for the last several years? sal
