Large investments into WiMAX

No; WiMAX is not dead. For those of you who don’t know: it’s the new IEEE-802.16 standard, and now Intel, Motorola, and others are investing really big money into it.

Just imagine wireless internet with bitrates up to 70MBit/sec. and a range up to 50km (over 30 miles) - then you have the idea of it. Probably the next big thing - Intel just announced to include it into their Centrino chipsets until the end of 2007.
