Not trying to tip my hand or anything, but WOW! This is a very slick book. The text and graphics are very visually appealing and even the feel of the pages gave me the impression that I was in possession of a truly high quality book. Of course, if the content doesn't stack up, all that other stuff really doesn't matter unless you just buy books because of the "eye candy" factor. Does Meyer's book stack up? You're about to find out.

CSS Web Site Design is a lynda.com book published by Peachpit Press. The lynda.com line specializes in "hands on" training provided by educators who are also topic specialists. I must say that I agree with the approach. As I worked my way through the text, I got the distinct feeling that it was really a classroom-in-a-book. Better yet, the book is written with the beginner in mind so if you want to learn Cascading Style Sheets in a way that you'll retain the knowledge, this book is for you.



That being said, expect to spend some time with the book. You won't be able to treat it like the latest best seller, page-turner. To learn a new topic, you need to spend some time with it. This isn't a crash course in learning CSS in some pre-set time period, this is a matter of working your way through the material and learning one step at a time.
