"Windows is a state-of-the-art operating system designed for state-of-the-art computers," he said, not the pitiful dumbed-down thing the EC wants to foist on the poor unsuspecting European consumer - and calling it Windows amounts to compulsory licensing of the Windows trademark, a defense that Microsoft is going to use when it appeals the EC's negative antitrust decision to the Court of First Instance in Luxembourg.

state_of_the_@rse

windows is already a pitiful dumbed down thing as compared to virtually any Linux OS (Mandrake, Slackware, Suse etc etc etc) with or without the spyware ridden atrocity known as Media Player.

WHEN are they going wake up?

Control is everything to M$!

"Windows is a state-of-the-art operating system designed for state-of-the-art computers,"

LMAO. Sounds like the Borg are at work again spewing lies. I don't think "state-of-the-art computers" would be running Windows with its 'fisher price' gui, resource hogging features and BSODs. It appears M$ is mad that they can't push that spyware bundled with their OS called Media Player to the masses in Europe. People claim the fine is a "slap on the wrist" but they can't explain why M$ is fighting hard to appeal this decision by the EU. Its all about control. M$ wants to control everything that they can. Congrats to the EU for this hopefully they stand their ground, unlike the current DOJ over here in the states that seems been bribed by M$. Many people see it as a small victory but actually its a big loss for M$. If it wasn't they wouldn't have fought so hard against it and now trying to appeal the decision.
