And people have the nerve to still say that MS is innovative??? Vistas issues have proven that MS just copies!

Sony came out with the PS, MS copied with the Xbox

Apple makes money on the iPod, MS comes out with the Zune

Now Apple is doing well with it's ads which are funny and fresh, MS copies.

Mac geniuses are very good and popular, now MS is copying that!

Good lord!

MS can't figure out any original way to grow it's company!

Yes they are making plenty of money with their current customers and the lock in they have with them. But nothing new! Not in decades. Same old BS that is not working anymore. They better just stick with Windows and Office. And try to make more money off dumb Americans and Europeans. Cause the rest of the world is getting hip.

And the fact that they STILL have to pull out Bill Gates to sell product is funny as hell. Bill has 50 Billion and is retired! Seinfeld could not hold his own??

Wow. Pretty sad.

I never said that Microsoft was innovative! Don't tell me about "visionary" Bill.

While he captured a market with bludgeons and brutal marketing tactics, innovation was never in the suite. Digital Research and Netscape beat Bill to that but got beat down in the onslaught. I was doing multiple terminals and interactive databases in DOS while Win95 was struggling with the Blue Screen of Death. There was lots of capable software out there that couldn't afford the publicity that IBM's gift to Gates engendered.

MS "innovation" is one of the great frauds that is going to implode.

Thw message I got from the ad is that Microsoft are planning on creating a new computer that one can eat while one is using it.

I saw the ad today.

It was every kind of horrible I've read about it, and then some.

If this doesn't damage the Vista brand even more, I'll be very surprised.

I agree, gus3 -- this has got to be one of the worst ads ever. Perhaps this is what Microsoft is shooting for: Vista's bad, but it glows in comparison to our ads.

Edible computers . . . ewwwwww.

Perhaps the idea is to improve the ads overtime.... see how they grow on you.

Probably we're not the target audience? How many of us might sometime in the next ten years consider buying Vista? Not much I suppose. Maybe the 'real' target audience does get the ad.

They will. The ads about warm fuzzies. About be liked because you (or they) are nice sweet friendly people.

My boss came back from Teched, he said there were Microsoft people there with Vista powered machines , Macs, and Ubuntu powered machine. The message to techies is that it's no longer about the OS, that Gen Y (or what ever the current label is) don't buy operating systems they buy the blue one or the red one.

The Microsoft ads are not about the operating system they are about making the blue one, look more appealing, and you will see more of this. Jerry never even mentioned the Operating system (and nor did Bil) he equated Microsoft with computer.

This is a great comment by Sam Varghese.

Quoting:Then came Microsoft. There are others who are waiting in the wings as Microsoft, bloated and out-of-date - which company would throw $US10 million at a comedian in order to get people to try software which even a lame dog wouldn't piss on? - slowly suffocates.
