| techiem2 Feb 27, 2010 2:14 PM EDT | The link is trying to go to an Lxer registration page and gives an error. |
| Scott_Ruecker Feb 27, 2010 2:39 PM EDT | Not sure how to help, I checked the link and takes me directly to the article on their site. |
| techiem2 Feb 27, 2010 2:43 PM EDT | When I click it takes me to: https://secure.lxer.com/registration/?rPage=login&url=http:/... I'll try logging out/in edit: Nope And other links I tried work fine... edit again: Now it decided to work..... /me is confused. |
| Scott_Ruecker Feb 27, 2010 4:38 PM EDT | Here is a copy of the link I have for it. http://www.mercurynews.com/business-headlines/ci_14478986 |
| nikkels Feb 28, 2010 6:23 AM EDT | The link leads me to a blank page. :-) |
| lcafiero Feb 28, 2010 7:24 AM EDT | Try this: http://www.mercurynews.com/business/ci_14478986 (mercurynews-dot-com-slash-business-slash-ci_14478986) If that doesn't work, just go to http://www.mercurynews.com/business/ (mercurynews-dot-com-slash-business) And click on the story -- if it's still on the front page by Sunday or thereafter. The Merc is a little screwy about their links. Honestly, I don't know why they'd want to make it easy to get eyeballs on their pages . . . sheesh. |
| nikkels Feb 28, 2010 7:59 AM EDT | both links go to a blank page.
I think they have blocked the 115.87.xxx.xxx part from the (their ) world .
Has happened before with other links. Thanks to all, and don't bother about it. |
| nikkels Feb 28, 2010 10:24 AM EDT | Guess what.............
all of a sudden, I got through ( after 6 blanks, a few security warnings and one freeze ) /home/nikkels is also confused. |
| Scott_Ruecker Feb 28, 2010 1:40 PM EDT | You have my sincere apologies for your troubles and I am very very glad you finally got to read it.. /home/scott is confused for you.. |
| Scott_Ruecker Mar 01, 2010 12:43 PM EDT | There is certainly something unusual going on, but it is not on the LXer side. The URL Quoted is fake. https://secure.lxer.com/registration/?rPage=login&url=http:/... There is no "secure.lxer.com" subdomain, and secondly we do not offer https ssl service. If you want I can pull the story off the newswire. |
