Your Editor is at large this holiday season. I have left the dry Arizona desert for the rainy California coast to visit family for the next week or so.

I command all 'LXers' to stay alive and have a drink for me..if you drink. ;-)

Merry Christmas our fine Large Editor, and thank you for keeping LXer a classy joint full of fine articles and splendid peeples! Happy Holidays, Joyous Festivus, Merry Paid Days Off, Generic Good Time, and all the rest! May you return rested and refreshed and ready to launch the new year! And for everyone else too!

Now isn't that an awesome band name-- Large Editor and the Afterthoughts.

Just so long as you don't make anybody so angry they try to strangle you.

The last thing we need to deal with is a bunch of angry smotherRueckers.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and to those who don't: I wish you a happy December 25th.

Well, you know, driving through the snow with too much glühwein between the steering wheel and the seat is not a good idea.

I got a wildly over-priced gift basket, and a hug from my son with the words "I love you, daddy."

No points for guessing which is worth more to me.

And today, more than a foot of snow in eastern NC. Maunder Minimum, anyone?

I am accessing LXer and writing this using the browser that comes with the Kindle. LXer looks pretty good in black and white. The site being as text laden as it is, it looks and feels the same. The browser is clunky but this thing is meant for reading not surfing..;)

Yay, I got a Christmas present too!

Usually, I only receive presents at (Dutch) SantaClause (dec 5th), but this time there were presents beneath the Christmas-tree!

No fancy gadget though, an old fashioned book which works even without batteries and readable in plain sunlight!

Can't read LXer on it though...

Hans -

I hear resolution on those book thingies is pretty darned good, not to mention peace of mind when reading one in the bathroom.

Dino, you forgot to tell that it also has a very high response rate, switching pages is smoother than anything else.

Dino: Resolution is even higher than my old eyes can handle! Not to mention weight, because this new magic revolutionary technique enables the thingies to be made even without metal and glass!

And best of all, you can use them to put a Christmas tree on it if you want.
