The author's "guestimated" number of Linux users is on track with my guesses as to the Linux adoption percentage. Over all, I guess that Linux users account for about 4-7% of all users, worldwide with is about where M$ put it several years ago. In the USA, that's probably on the lower end. His calcs also indicate that Linux users are more likely to pay for content as percentage of their user base, in contradiction to many people's assumptions.
