the article makes it sound like it's a bad thing that bill gates uses a picture featuring ubuntu linux. "[taking classes online is a] sound goal and it's perfectly doable, but in the image posted on Facebook the operating system is Ubuntu.

why is there a "but"?

is ubuntu linux not a good OS to take online classes with? does the author mean to say that windows would be better?

greetings, eMBee.

I question the use of the word "inadvertently".

Bill knows the difference between a Windows desktop and Linux desktop.

Promoting Ubuntu? It really looks like the only thing he's promoting is hope of a better life by bridging the digital divide. If that's achievable with Windows and/or Linux, more power to him.

But he'd prefer that it actually be achieved with Windows.

Personally, I suspect that if you're not a Linux fan, you're probably not even going to notice what OS is being used on the computer screen in that picture.

All Bill wants is to use a modern OS.
