....no official leadership role existed with Kubuntu in the first place.

... therefore his Highness M$huttleworth shall appoint some technostooge to have a "leadership role" with Kuboohoohoobuntu. Probably just to end up KILL -15'ing the prject when all is said and done, despite the clamor of all their users. Maybe Clem Lefebure's Linux Mint will pick up all the slack from the original KDE Udistro afterwards, who knows.

@nitbob,

CLEARLY Riddell cares the most, followed by many of the fanbois of the KDE Udistro. Come to think of it, it makes good sense for Riddell to jump a sinking ship and joinup with the KDE development team of Linux Mint. This makes good sense -- not that Clem Lefebvre or Riddell's ego will actually let him do that so easily though.

All this makes me more inclined to go back to the Debian "mothership" after Kubuntu 14.04 LTS reaches end-of-life... Maybe by then the cancer that is systemd will be in remission (as in no longer spreading/held in check), and Wayland will finally be released and functional... (Well,... maybe "go back" is too strong a phrase, since I only ever really used it on one machine for about 6-9 mos.)
