Just noticing, odd placement for your comment. That is, not linked to the story of Linux Journal's closing.

From what I have seen, the reason they are trying to keep the site up for a few weeks is to give those archiving a chance to complete the task. Others are hoping a white knight will appear and save the site, not the publication they are not that bereft from reality.

Perhaps Bob, could move this thread to the proper story.

I'm sorry to see LJ go, I liked the magazine a lot. Always a good read and I learn something in every issue too. I'm self taught on FOSS and computers in general so any knowledge I gain no matter where I get it is good for me. It seems LJ is not the only magazine going under these days though, with the digital age in full swing and shifting attentions there will be a lot less periodicals in the future..
