OSDir.com Weekly Screenshot Tours for March 4, 2005. It was a great week in the OSDir screenshot arena. We installed and captured screenshots of KDE 3.4 Release Candidate, SimplyMEPIS 3.3, SAM Mini Live Linux 2005-1SE, Linux+ Live 2.04, and Kate Linux 1.0.

OSDir.com Weekly Screenshot Tours for Feb 24, 2005. This week we had a look at some nice software, including Linspire 4.5, amaroK 1.2, and Lineox Enterprise Linux 4.0 RC1.

The second beta of Mandrakelinux 10.2 is available. New: three 700MB ISO files via BitTorrent or list of FTP mirrors; full copy of CD to HD during the installation is now available; cosmetic improvements in MCC; new ALSA sound architecture with source mixing.

Over the winter break and past week at OSDir.com we had the following screenshot tours on our agenda: Mandrakelinux 10.2 Cooker, CentOS 3.4 Beta, ProMEPIS 2005 Beta 2, MoLinux 1.0, Vidalinux Desktop OS 1.1 Download, Ubuntu Linux 4.10 (French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, and Mandarin), SAM Xmas Fun 2004, Games Knoppix 3.7, SuliX 2.0, ASP Linux 10, Sun Java Desktop System 2, and OpenOffice.org 1.9.69 Base. Yeah, we've been busy!

Last week OSDir.com surpassed their 100th Linux and open source screenshot tour, which has become an invaluable resource to the open source community.

Ubuntu Linux has expanded their series of international screenshots. In addition to Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and French, they've now added Mandarin, Arabic, and Russian screenshots to their screenshots page.

Mandrakelinux has just released an ISO of their 10.2 Cooker Snapshot. This is the pre-beta of the upcoming Mandrakelinux 10.2.

Ubuntu Linux has posted a series of international screenshots of their 4.10 LiveCD (thanks to OSDir.com).

This includes Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and French screenshots. Additional languages are soon to be added.

After a long struggle with this distro and VMWare, we finally got Novell Linux Desktop 9 installed at OSDir, and grabbed some screenshots, running both KDE and GNOME.

Progeny Linux does Debian one step better. If you like Ubuntu you'll love Progeny. A slick GNOME desktop, a solid Debian core, and the Anaconda installer have made Progeny my new desktop of choice. Progeny has also recently become part of the Linux Core Consortium (LCC) to implement Linux Standard Base (LSB) 2.0. Watch your back Ubuntu for Progeny's new 'Progeny Debian 2.0 Developer Edition RC1' release.

At OSDir we just had to install this distro, and take some screenshots. Our screenshot tour will take you from boot, through the installation, to the desktop. Then we'll have a look at the taskbar, menus, system configuration, and a few of the newly added features of this great distro.
