elementary OS Daily 20131001 Screenshot Tour

This PPA (Personal Package Archive) contains the newest and most unstable development of elementary, it's useful only if you are a developer and are not afraid to encounter CRITICAL BUGS. Elementary OS is an Ubuntu-based desktop distribution. Some of its more interesting features include a new GTK+ and icon theme for GNOME, the Midori web browser, new applications developed in-house (e.g. Dexter, an address book and Postler, an email client), and Nautilus Elementary, a simple file manager.

The Chakra project team is delighted to announce the first release of Chakra Fritz. 'Fritz' is the name of a series of Chakra releases that follow the KDE Software Compilation 4.11 series and is dedicated to the memory of Fritz_Van_Tom. With this ISO image we offer KDE SC 4.11.1. In this release, many areas have received a number of improvements that affect multiple applications; most notably a speed boost on Akonadi. The Plasma Workspaces 4.11 will receive long-term support as the KDE team focuses on the technical transition to Frameworks 5. You may have noticed that there is no new artwork with this new series as it is usually the case, since it wasn't ready by the time of the release. Hopefully work on the artwork will be completed soon so we can include it in a future release.

Kwheezy 1.2 Screenshot Tour

Version 1.2 is now available from the download page. This release has three main focuses. Stabilizing the installer, Linux gaming and removing the deb-multimedia.org third-party repository. Changes in version 1.2: incorporates a couple of remaining installer bug fixes; Kwheezy Profiler, a new GUI tool to backup and restore user profiles; rekonq browser updated to 2.3.2; Steam client installed by default; PlayOnLinux installed by default; some open-source games (KDE Games, DreamChess) included; deb-multimedia.org packages replaced by official Debian packages, the necessary codecs / decoders included from Kwheezy repository instead; some minor tweaking here and there; version 1.1 installations can be upgraded to 1.2 via Apper or apt-get.

The Fedora 20 release coincides nicely with the 10th anniversary of Fedora. The first Fedora release (then called Fedora Core 1) came out on November 6, 2003. Ramone 0.97 has been released. Ramone is a DIY GNU/Linux distribution based on LFS (Linux From Scratch) project. RPM is used as Ramone's package manager, and you can use 'yum', 'mock' on Ramone. The default desktop environment is GNOME, and KDE, XFCE, LXDE are also supported. There are two architectures in Ramone release now: i686 and x86_64.

Team Tiny Core is proud to announce the release of Tiny Core 5.0. Changelog: Linux kernel update to 3.8.10 with (U)EFI boot enabled; option to use vmlinuz + rootfs.gz + modules.gz or vmlinuz64 + rootfs.gz + modules64.gz (where boot loader permits); aterm, freetype, imlib2, jpeg and libpng factored out of Xlibs/Xprogs; glibc updated to 2.17 and recompiled against 3.8.x kernel headers; GCC updated to 4.7.2, recompiled against 3.8.x kernel headers and cloog, gmp, mpc, mpfr and ppl; e2fsprogs base libraries and applications updated to 1.42.7; util-linux base libraries and applications updated to 2.23.1; scm extensions have been dropped; fixed copy2fs bug with tc-load.... Note that due to factoring out and updating libpng, many extensions from the Tiny Core 4.x repository will not work with Tiny Core 5.0.

Bodhi 2.4.0 Screenshot Tour

Pear OS 8 Beta 2 has been released. Pear Linux is a French Ubuntu-based desktop Linux distribution. Some of its features include ease-of-use, custom user interface with a Mac OS X-style dockbar, and out-of-the-box support for many popular multimedia codecs.
