Canonical announced last evening, June 21st, in a secuirty notice, that the Mozilla Thunderbird 13 email client landed in some of their supported Ubuntu distributions.

The actual version of Thunderbird updated yesterday is 13.0.1, and it has been uploaded in the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Ubuntu 11.10 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating systems.

Mozilla Thunderbird 13.0 brings only one new feature called Filelink, which allows users to send large attachments by sending a link to the file, avoiding bounce back of emails.

All Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin), Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot), and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) users can update their Thunderbird email client to version 13.0.1 right now, by using the Update Manager software.
