Bill Reynolds announced of the second version of PCLinuxOS 2012.2 on 3rd Feb,2012. It uses Linux Kernel 2.6.38.8 and desktop environment is KDE 4.6.5. The Synaptic package manager is there for package management which contain over 13,500 packages. PCLinuxOS is mainly forked from Mandriva and very user friendly operating system.

Running ownCloud3 On Nginx (LEMP) On Debian Squeeze/Ubuntu 11.10
This tutorial shows how you can install and run ownCloud3 on a Debian Squeeze or Ubuntu 11.10 system that has nginx installed instead of Apache (LEMP = Linux + nginx (pronounced "engine x") + MySQL + PHP). ownCloud enables universal access to files through the widely implemented WebDAV standard, providing a platform to easily view and sync contacts, calendars and bookmarks across devices while supporting sharing, viewing and editing via the web interface. First Live CD Running Wayland Display Server
RebeccaBlackOS is the first Live CD having Wayland display server on it and various toolkits (QT, GTK, Clutter etc.) Currently It does start to xorg, and there it has an icon for launching Wayland nested in X. If you want to start it native, switch to tty1 by hitting ctrl-alt-f1, and typing sudo westoncaller. to go back to X switch to TTY 7 or 8, by hitting ctrl-alt-f7, or ctrl-alt-f8. RebeccaBlackOS maintainer Nerdpolis will soon implement starting of Live CD in Wayland server.

So we moved from Linux Mint 10 KDE to Linux Mint 12 KDE because Linux Mint 11 KDE did not make it out of the developer’s box.
Being based on Ubuntu Desktop, Linux Mint shares many of that distribution’s features. Other than changes in software and kernel versions, there are very few new features in this release, so rather than go through the usual review drill, I will concentrate purely on usage experience.

U.S. government, military to get secure Android phones
Some U.S. officials this year are expected to get smartphones capable of handling classified government documents over cellular networks, according to people involved in the project. The phones will run a modified version of Google's Android software, which is being developed as part of an initiative that spans multiple federal agencies and government contractors, these people said.
